Today I came across a weird issue with a users Office that prevented them from opening certain Excel Spreadsheets. When opening the problem spreadsheets(often email attachments) they would be shown the Office warnings below. Selecting Enable Editing or Activate would cause Excel to crash.
The user had an active Office 365 license and uninstalling/reinstalling did not resolve the issue.
Checking the Office account when one of these documents were opened showed that Office was not activated however, opening Excel and creating a new spreadsheet had no issues and checking the Office account showed it as being activated.
I noticed that in the Excel taskbar it showed HP Sure Click Secure view so suspect this software is opening the document in some sort of Sandbox.
Uninstalling HP Sure Click resolved the issue

Instructions
- Open the Control Panel
- Select Programs and Features (or Windows Key + R and type appwiz.cpl and press Ok)
- Select HP Sure Click
- Click Uninstall
- Follow the prompts and select all default options to uninstall
- After HP Sure Click has been uninstalled restart the device and documents will not open without issue
